Ad formats
Our player uses the Google IMA3 SDK for video ad interaction, so the following are supported:
- All VAST versions
- VPAID 2.0 HTML5 video ads
- VMAP adPods
There are limitations to the feature support for VAST 3 and 4. It's recommended that you check the most up-to-date feature support here.
You can add multiple ads in different positions to an ad schedule. You can place ads in the following formats:
- Pre-roll – Before the feature starts.
- Mid-roll – X seconds or minutes into the video, typically used with text/image overlays to not interrupt the feature playback.
- Post-roll – After the main feature content ends.
Note: Pre-roll is available to work with live streams. You can also add text/image overlays midroll. All ad schedule options work with videos.
Depending on your ad server offerings, you’ll be able to set:
- Skippable video or overlay ads
- Non-skippable video ads with a defined length
- Text or image overlay ads
The SDK does not support skippable ads that are less than 8 seconds long. When ads shorter than the minimum length are played, the Skip button is not displayed.
