While you can re-stream an asset as live content and take advantage of our content delivery network to simulcast across platforms, you can also easily give your viewers access to the stored video-on-demand content. You can build your own solution and use the asset's Stream URL in the player of your choice, but we make it even easier by providing a player embed code you can use to quickly add the video to your site or, for a no-code solution, a generated webpage with embedded player that we host for you and all you do is send the URL to your viewers.
Before you start
You should have access to and complete the following tasks:
- To access Asset Management, you should have a subscription to Wowza Video. You should also have uploaded an MP4 to Asset Management or, have recorded content.
- Have an asset available in Asset Management with the Published status.
Choose your VOD playback method
You can choose any of the following methods to give your viewers access to your recorded content:
- Build your own solution
- Use our embed code to add the video to your site
- Share our hosted page with your viewers
Build your own solution
This workflow is entirely in your hands; you'll just need to use the Stream URL in your player to access the video.
- Click Manage Assets in the left navigation bar and choose the asset you want to stream.
- Locate the Stream URL field in the Asset Details section.
- Provide the Stream URL to the player you're using and your viewers will be able to replay the video when they want.
Use the embed code to add the video to your site
The player embed code we generate is configured for an instance of Wowza Flowplayer and already points to the asset's stream URL. All you have to do is add the embed code to the source code of your site.
- Click Manage Assets in the left navigation bar and choose the asset you want to stream.
- Locate the Player Embed Code in the Playback section.
- Paste the embed code in the source code of your site.
Share the hosted page with your viewers
- Click Manage Assets in the left navigation bar and choose the asset you want to stream.
- Locate the Hosted Page URL in the Playback section. You can edit that section to update the hosted page title and description to fit your video content or event.
- Send the hosted page URL to your viewers.
