WOWZA TO DEMONSTRATE THE FUTURE OF BROADCAST AT NAB 2017
NAB SHOW, LAS VEGAS, April 24, 2017 — Wowza™ Media Systems today opened the 2017 NAB Show Expo with a commitment to delivering the future of live streaming through resilient managed services, that deliver low latency streaming at scale with industry leading monitoring. Through a series of technology demonstrations, partner seminars and expert presentations, Wowza will showcase how it is continuously solving issues for broadcasters of every size. Among the partners and customers joining Wowza at its booth (SU8521), include Facebook, Microsoft Azure, Alibaba Cloud, MediaPlatform, Medlmobile, Radiant Images, Osprey and Haivision.
“As the gold standard in streaming, Wowza is a foundational component to many streaming innovations being offered at NAB,” says Carlos Perez, chief revenue officer at Wowza. “Wowza stabilizes and simplifies every part of the live video ecosystem through an end-to-end solution for streaming applications that wow audiences around the world.”
During the show, Wowza executives will present on how Wowza technologies simplify streaming workflows and provide enhanced scalability with CDNs. Wowza will also host expert sessions focused on crucial industry trends, including building VR/360° experiences; React Native and new development paradigms for streaming apps; and live mobile broadcasting.
Managed, Monitored and Resilient
Following with its commitment to innovating the future platform for live streaming, Wowza will unveil several new features to its managed Wowza Streaming Cloud service that improve overall monitoring and resiliency of streams. The intelligent monitoring solution provides an easy dashboard to evaluate stream health throughout the entirety of the streaming workflow, including formats and ingest; end-to-end latency and time to first frame; transcoder health; bitrates; and packet drops or failures. Additionally, Wowza will demonstrate new fallback settings, which generate redundant pathways to automatically swap to hot streams in the event of a failure.
MediaDS: Your Broadcast Streaming Studio in a Box
At the booth, Wowza and NewTek will showcase the MediaDS. The MediaDS is the industry’s first end-to-end streaming device, allowing broadcasters to launch their own multi-channel content networks from their production site, and deliver a live video stream directly to their viewers. The device merges NewTek’s industry-leading live production technology with powerful, proven Wowza streaming software in a 1RU footprint.
Wowza to Showcase Virtual Reality and 360° Video Streaming
Delivering immersive live VR or 360° experiences presents new levels of complexity to the streaming workflow—beginning with capture and continuing all the way to output. Addressing these complexities, Wowza will welcome Radiant Images to discuss how the company leveraged Wowza technology to create unique experiences for President Obama, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast and interactive streams for their customers. Additionally, Ryan Jespersen, Wowza streaming industry evangelist, will present his predictions for Virtual Reality and 360°.
