Wowza Showcases Low-Latency Streaming Solutions at NAB
SRT Support and Low-Latency CMAF Preview Unveiled During the Conference
Golden, CO — During the 2019 NAB Show, to be held April 6–11 in Las Vegas, Wowza Media Systems will be showcasing several product enhancements as part of the company’s continued dedication to reducing live-streaming latency. New features include a preview version of low-latency CMAF support for the Wowza Streaming EngineTM software and ingest of SRT into the Wowza Streaming CloudTM service. Interested parties can learn more at the Wowza booth (SU7114) or at one of the Wowza pods in the Microsoft booth (SL6716) and Google Partner Pavilion (SU218).
Wowza Streaming Engine and Wowza Player will support low-latency CMAF in early summer 2019. This Flash-free, non-proprietary technology is providing new opportunities for OTT, live sports, e-gaming and interactive streaming. Low-latency CMAF will be joining Wowza’s existing low-latency capabilities that include WebRTC, SRT and Wowza Streaming Cloud’s Ultra Low Latency feature. NAB attendees will have the opportunity to demo this new technology and learn more by enrolling in the early access program.
Additionally, Wowza continues investing in the SRT protocol by adding ingest support to Wowza Streaming Cloud and broadcast support to the Wowza GoCoder SDK. This provides users with more robust options for video delivery in challenging environments, extending SRT functionality across the Wowza product portfolio.
“Wowza is proud to collaborate in the SRT community and we’re excited to expand the Wowza Streaming Cloud offering to incorporate this protocol”, says Wowza CEO David Stubenvoll. “We’re committed to providing the latest and greatest streaming technologies to our user community.”
As a founding member of the SRT Alliance, Wowza will take part in the SRT Technical Panel sponsored by Haivision and Microsoft. Wowza CTO Charlie Good will join experts from Bitmovin, Deluxe and Gogo to discuss the latest technical developments of this open-source protocol on April 8 at 4:15 in the North Hall Room N250.
