Manage custom Wowza ClearCaster destination and encoding templates

With Wowza ClearCaster™ appliances, you can create custom destination and encoding presets for ClearCaster broadcasts. You may need to create multiple custom destinations with a range of custom preset encoding options associated with each. You can manage these multiple custom destinations and templates in Wowza ClearCaster Manager to control what shows up in the Create Broadcast dialog in what order.

Manage custom destinations

Show or hide a destination and its associated encoding templates

Newly added destinations are visible in the Create Broadcast dialog by default. Showing or hiding a destination affects its associated encoding presets.

1. To hide a destination, from the Templates tab, click Manage Destinations.
2. For the destination you want to hide, click the eye icon   in the Visibility column.
3. To reveal a previously hidden destination, click the eye icon  in the Visibility column for the destination you want to show.

Note: You can also click Manage Templates to show or hide a destination. Click the eye icon   next to the Destinations drop down to toggle the visibility of a destination and its associated templates.

Show custom destinations only

All built-in destinations and custom destinations are visible in the Create Broadcast dialog by default.

1. From the Templates tab, click Manage Destinations.
2. Clear the Show default destinations in Create Broadcast dialog check box. 
   
   
   Custom destinations are now visible, but built-in destinations are hidden.

Reorder destinations

You can arrange the order of custom destinations in the Create Broadcast dialog.

1. From the Templates tab, click Manage Destinations.
2. Use the up and down arrows     in the Reorder column to reposition the destinations.

Delete a destination

Deleting a destination also deletes all of its associated encoding templates.

1. From the Templates tab, click Manage Destinations.
2. Click the trash can icon   in the Delete column for the destination you want to delete.

Manage custom encoding templates

Set a default template for a destination

You can control which template is selected by default when you choose a particular destination in the Create Broadcasts dialog.

1. From the Templates tab, click Manage Templates.
2. Select a Destination and select the radio button in the Default column for the template you want as the default.

Hide or show a template

Newly added templates are visible in the Create Broadcast dialog by default, however, you can control their visibility.

1. From the Templates tab, click Manage Templates.
2. Select a Destination and click the eye icon   in the Visibility column for the template you want to hide.
3. To reveal a previously hidden template, click the eye icon  in the Visibility column for the template you want to show.

Reorder templates

You can arrange the order of custom templates in the Create Broadcast dialog.

1. From the Templates tab, click Manage Templates.
2. Use the up and down arrows     in the Reorder column to reposition the templates.

Delete a template

1. From the Templates tab, click Manage Templates.
2. Click the trash can icon   in the Delete column for the template you want to delete.
3. Alternatively, from the Templates tab, select the template you want to delete, and click Delete Template.
