vMix has some great integrations to easily stream via RTMP to Wowza Streaming Cloud. In Wowza Streaming Cloud, start by going to Live Streams and Add a Live Stream. We’ll name this appropriately, and then choose the closest server available. Next, we’ll scroll down and select vMix. I’ll leave the rest of the settings default for now, but most of these can be edited later. With the live stream created, all we need is the connection code. I’ll Start Live Stream now, as it does take a little time for it to start up.
Now, if you’re using vMix for the first time, you’ll need to add an input. I’ll keep this simple and use a USB camera. Now, we can change the stream settings, change the destination to Wowza Cloud, and then add in the connection code. You may need to click Login and Update Channels. Once the information has been saved and the stream is started in Wowza Streaming Cloud, you can start the stream in vMix. Back in Wowza Streaming Cloud, you’ll see a thumbnail and statistics that show the stream is working. While the player embed code is available, as well as a playback URL for use with other playback devices, we’ll use the hosted page URL to verify it’s working. All right, that’s it for streaming RTMP to Wowza Streaming Cloud with vMix. Thanks for watching and happy streaming.
