Wowza Hackathon Pregame: Tools for Getting Started
We are sponsoring challenges at Hackathons using the Wowza GoCoder SDK with Wowza Streaming Cloud to build the best broadcast and playback app. The app should allow users to create and share their own live video content.

Use these tools before the hackathon to get familiar with Wowza technology and during the hackathon to complete your project:
Challenge #1 – Best live-streaming integration in a playback app using the Wowza GoCoder SDK for iOS
Tools and technology provided:
– Wowza GoCoder iOS SDK with playback.
– Wowza Streaming Cloud
– Code samples.
– Developer tools and tutorials.
– Support from Wowza developers.
Steps to take prior to hackathon:
1). Review the Using the iOS GoCoder SDK Sample App Lab Exercise here.

This lab has all of the links to download the Free GoCoder SDK as well as sign up for trial to use Wowza Streaming Cloud. Reviewing this lab will facilitate using working code that does Broadcast and Playback as well as some other features such as text and image overlay. You will need to actually deploy the app to a device to use this SDK.
FYI – Simulators do not have access to camera). Two devices will be needed, one for broadcast and one for playback.

Before or during the hackathon:
Get your Free GoCoder SDK and Streaming Cloud trial.
– Navigate to https://www.wowza.com, click on the Downloads tab at the very top of the page and then select the SDK for either Android or iOS.
– Request a free Cloud Trial license (unless you have your own production license of Wowza Streaming Cloud) Free Wowza Streaming Cloud Trial
– Download Wowza Streaming Cloud by following the instructions in your “Welcome to Cloud” trial email.
