Optimizing Live Streaming Performance: Looking for Insights and Solutions

Hi Wowza Community,

I am jumping deep into live streaming with Wowza Streaming Engine and could use some expert advice. My focus is on optimizing performance to deliver seamless, high-quality streams to viewers.

Specifically, I am interested in fine-tuning settings, troubleshooting latency issues, and ensuring smooth playback across different devices and platforms.
If you have experience or tips to share regarding stream configuration, adaptive bitrate streaming, or any other aspect of live streaming on Wowza, I’d greatly appreciate your insights.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Marcos,

our docs already have a lot of advice to optimize configuration and streaming. Please check

and

for example, you’ll also find further troubleshooting guides in the navigation to the left.

Hi Marcos,

This is a complex topic and depends very much on your use case, set of devices, player technology, where you are delivering, whether a CDN or not, what ingest looks like, etc. There are many tradeoffs you want to consider (for example, maximum device support versus bandwidth versus quality versus latency versus cost).

Some of the questions I asked in a previous thread may help you divide and conquer.

Bernd’s articles are def a good start

A video consultant can help you get focused on the right problems and to resolution much quicker.
